The “German Design Award 2022” ceremony took place this Tuesday at the Angewandte Kunst Museum in Frankfurt. The event had a private and low-profile nature while still counting with the presence of Lutz Dietzold, the CEO of the German Design Council, which gave the prestigious award to our designer and author of the awarded piece – Melissa Vilar.

The Sanlife wall hung textured toilet which won the “Special Mention” award in the “Excellent Product Design” category and “Bath and Wellness” subcategory combines sobriety and elegance.

Its matt surface with a soft slightly velvety pattern provides a fascinating sensory experience while revolutionizing the traditional glazed finish of other standard toilets. This visual experience conveys a feeling of lightness and pleasure to the touch while enhancing creativity and appealing to positivism.

The “German Design Award” is one of the most prestigious contests in the international design panorama and this latest edition analysed around 4500 submissions from 60 different countries.
